What are pituitary glands?
Can a person live without a pituitary gland? This is because it controls many other hormone glands in the body. According to The Pituitary Foundation, without it, the body wouldn’t reproduce, wouldn’t grow properly and many other bodily functions just wouldn’t function.
How do you fix your pituitary gland? Hormonal therapy and medication aimed at restoring hormonal balance may be recommended for patients with pituitary disorders. Treatments may include pituitary hormone replacement, in which hormones are given to replace hormones not being produced by the pituitary gland.
What happens if the pituitary gland is not functioning properly? If your pituitary gland doesn’t function properly, your skin, brain, reproductive organs, vision, mood, energy, growth and more could all be negatively affected. Your body depends on the hormones it produces and releases.

Most pituitary tumors are curable. If a pituitary tumor is diagnosed early, the outlook for recovery is usually excellent. However, if tumors grow large enough, or grow rapidly, they are more likely to cause problems and will be more difficult to treat.
In general, when a pituitary tumor is not cured, people live out their lives but may have to deal with problems caused by the tumor or its treatment, such as vision problems or hormone levels that are too high or too low.
