In relationships, self-sabotage is when you’re actively trying to ruin your own relationship or make it fall apart, whether consciously or subconsciously. For some people, this is such an ingrained behavior that it can be hard to even recognize, let alone stop it.
When it comes to sabotages in Among Us, communications is definitely the least used one. While sabotaging lights or doors limits what the crew can do, and sabotaging O2 or reactors can potentially win the game for imposters, communications only ever seems to be a mild annoyance rather than a real problem.
You cancel dates. You avoid talking about taking things to the next level. Your partner expresses frustration, disappointment, or even anger about your behavior. Not long after, the partner breaks up the relationship.
Why Partners Sabotage
According to Catchings, “Most times [the reason for sabotaging] is insecurity, fear of abandonment, or jealousy.” Fear of abandonment and jealousy stem from insecurity, so really, it’s likely that any sabotaging is stemming from your partner’s own lack self-consciousness.
Self-sabotage can happen when you’re looking for a way out. These behaviors help suggest something about your situation isn’t working for you. If you feel unfulfilled at work because your daily tasks don’t use any of your specialized skills, you might start watching Netflix whenever you’re bored.
The best method for helping someone who is self-sabotaging is to point out that no matter what you say, they always find excuses, or find things wrong. But if they truly want to address these destructive behaviors you’ll be there for them by telling them the truth and staying genuine to who you really are.
On Skeld and Polus, fixing communications is a one crewmate job. All you have to do is make your way to the communications room and activate the radio. You will then see this radio with two frequencies. Your goal is to match the frequencies by turning the dial.
To reach Reactor, Crewmates must first go through Decontamination. A vent is located on the left below, allowing Impostors to enter without going through Decontamination. Several one-way windows can also be seen through from the hallway side of Reactor.
As with all other Sabotages, both living Crewmates and Impostors can resolve Reactor Meltdown, and the emergency button cannot be used. When the player opens the Reactor Meltdown interface, it says “HOLD TO STOP MELTDOWN”, and the hand is colored red.
(In another blog post, I discussed California’s Labor Code 1102.5. In short, Section 1102.5 prohibits an employer from retaliating against a worker for reporting, complaining about, or refusing to engage in violations of local, state, or federal laws.)
To regain his footing, Mark needs to examine his internalized tendencies. He must figure out why he gets so rattled, in particular by Nicole. Frequently, the most important conversations we have in business are those we have with ourselves.
Opposite of astonished, taken aback. unaffected. unmoved. uninterested. unconcerned.

This kind of response is called stonewalling. When you’re in a relationship with someone who regularly stonewalls—or are prone to stonewalling yourself—it’s likely proactive communication is a challenge. Stonewalling can have troubling effects on relationships, but experts tell us there are ways to work around it.
If this sounds like you, you might be engaging in relationship self-sabotage. Relationship wreckers like cheating, lying, jealousy, and other, more subtle forms of self-sabotage can originate from an unconscious fear of rejection, vulnerability, or attachment. The applied strain on the relationship leads to a breakup.
Submit Scan is a task in Among Us, completed in MedBay. It is completed as a long task on The Skeld and MIRA HQ, and as a short task on Polus. It reports the Crewmate’s height and weight, which are the same for all players, except for Fortegreen, who weighs 132 pounds.
Impostors can’t do tasks, though they have a fake task list to help them blend in. This way, they can behave similarly to Crewmates. One of the Impostor’s abilities is to sabotage. This forces Crewmates to resolve problems or they can’t complete tasks.
Weapons is a location in Among Us on The Skeld and Polus.
The Negative Effects of Nitpicking
When you point out what your partner has or hasn’t done or how they said or did something wrong, you may be belittling, embarrassing, and demeaning your partner. If you continue to nitpick at your spouse, a growing resentment can create a wall between you.
Self-Sabotage: A Psychological Definition
Self-sabotage occurs when we destroy ourselves physically, mentally, or emotionally or deliberately hinder our own success and wellbeing by undermining personal goals and values (Brenner, 2019).
